Set against the backdrop of the long-standing civil war in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), NDEGE offers an intimate exploration of resilience and desire among youth affected by conflict.
Participants of a six-week collaborative design program in Goma –Alliance, Jacques, Délice, Micheline, Sage and Jospin – document their practice, daily lives, and the challenges they face amid a humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the intensifying M-23 rebel offensive. NDEGE highlights the impacts of conflict in a territory where tailoring skills are used to confront trauma and envision a different future, presenting an authentic narrative of hope amidst adversity.
